Div 2

A weekly affair since 6th July.

Now, SMU Foxes has ended it glamourously with a 2nd place finish.

It really didn't come by easily.

Our critics were hard on us. We trained. We played. We proved them wrong.

Now who dares deny us of our glory?

A long season it is, so long that I couldn't really remember the first few games. I do think that my memory only dates back to the NUS Callistans game and thereon. Let me just summarize the games that i remember in a few words. And i do really mean a few words!=P

NUS Callistans: A draw. Could have prevented their goals and it should have been to our taking, but i was careless.
One West Supernova: My first clean sheet. The game where i felt i really saved.
Team Hestia: I learnt that no team is unbeatable. But Jill Quek was missing, i would love to receive her shots, since she is such a fab player (i've heard!). Like what dennis said, we had good chances of winning!
Simply Blacks: Well deserved win..
Springfield Ewoks: A good closure.

Well, somehow, I really can't recall a huge chunk of what we have been through. Except, the celebrations, happy moments, the camaraderie as a team.

My first major league, has impacted me quite a bit. I truly learnt a lot and gained more exposure to floorball. However, i did not really felt much contribution to the team. Like what Dennis said, looking back, most of the goals could have been preventable. And they definitely are.

All the lobangs and holes.

The defence was really good, the girls kept the ball away from me most of the time. Not to mention, the centers, who scored a hell lot of goals and also defended well from time to time. And lastly, the forwards, who tried very hard to chiong for the ball..

From the perspective of the player who is right smack in the last line of defence, i saw the tenacity in my team, the perseverance, the rush for the ball. My friends, that has really inspired me a lot and kept me going for 60 mins.

We played for one another, played for our personal improvements, played for the team's advancements.

And the end result, we did not lose a single game.

Ok, i shall stop being so emo and lest i start sniffing.

The road to the runner up position surely wasnt't easy, and we know we are proud of ourselves. Great to see and feel what team spirit is like through Div 2, through smufloorball.

Fond memories, i will have.

On a personal side note, i do think i should start making more improvements, still got a long way to go!=)
